Anniversary

I'm incensed that I can't find a single word in any newspaper about today being the 25 year anniversary of an unambiguous but unrecognized declaration of war against America. The closest thing I could find was this article from last week's Washington Times.

Please leave a note in the comment section if you knew what I was talking about before clicking on the article link. The fact that we've forgotten about this is a disgrace and Americans are dead because of it.

UPDATE: I want to give everyone credit here who posted on this story before I did (before I said it had been ignored); the first is Cassie from Scribblings, who notes that:
I remember watching the news on television and feeling horrified. This stuff didn’t happen to us. It wasn’t the first acts of terrorism I’d heard of -- it was the first time I can remember that we were attacked.
Amen.

If you posted on this and it's been neglected, let me know in my comment sections and I'll update with a link. This is not my story -- this is our story and we should give it a life of its own and make it a part of our collective discourse.

UPDATE II: What to do? I posted this brief story and told my good friend Rusty about it. He then wrote a more detailed post on the same subject and got trackbacks and links giving him credit. At my core I just want the story to get out, but at the same time these are big sites that I'd like to get links from. So here they are:

The Politburo Diktat
Ace of Spades
The Llama Butchers
Dean's World
Greek Empire
Grupo Utopia
Captain's Quarters
MY VRWC
The Sparse Matrix
Diggers Realm
In the Bullpen
Fix Bayonetts
Rocket Jones
Cranky Neocon
Outside the Beltway
